While Mast Service Center first opened in 2005, Leonard Mast was working on diesels on his father’s farm since he was 13 or 14 years old. He went into trucking, then decided to build an auto repair shop. The shop has several technicians who work on anything from a Ford Escort to fleets of big rigs. Each mechanic has one or more certifications, including ASE Certification, Hunter Certification and air brake certifications. The shop is also a NAPA auto care truck center.

Electrical Services

At Mast Service Center, we have diagnostic tools for electrical problems. We diagnose and repair electrical issues, including those that others cannot find. With up to a mile’s worth of wiring in some vehicles, it can be difficult to find a problem, but our electrical mechanic has the experience to locate hard-to-find issues.

Sensors and Control Modules

When your vehicle’s check engine light comes on, you have a problem with the engine management system. Your vehicle might not run at all, or it could run poorly. In some cases, you might not even notice a difference.

However, any problem that causes the check engine light to come is something that should be checked out immediately. If the vehicle still runs, but runs poorly, it is probably in limp-home mode. In most cases, it will run until you shut it off. The computer allows this so that you can get to a shop or home instead of being stranded on the road.

We have the equipment to pull the codes and future diagnose the issue. Just because an engine throws a code, that doesn’t mean the sensor itself is bad. For example, an oxygen sensor sends a code if the vehicle is running too lean or too rich – the oxygen sensor is most likely not bad. We’ll diagnose the reason the oxygen sensor is showing out of range.

In other cases, such as a MAP or MAF sensor or a throttle position sensor, it is more likely that the sensor is bad.

Diagnosing engine control modules and sensors is often difficult unless you have the proper equipment. At Mast Service Center, we have the scanners and diagnostic equipment needed to properly diagnose the sensors and control modules.
